You can hear it in Ada’s voice: Meals on Wheels delivers joy to seniors who were hungry and isolated before joining our community. During this time of rising senior need, donate today to improve quality of life for disabled seniors who cannot leave their homes.

We Deliver More Than Meals
Since 1977, Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake (MOWC) has provided nutritious home-delivered meals, safety checks, social connection, and care coordination for older and disabled homebound residents who live alone, cannot grocery shop or cook healthy meals, and have no assistance with meal prep.
Success Stories
Your being here to support me (I live alone) has greatly enhanced my confidence that I am not alone, and were I to need outside help, MOW staff would be there! Seriously! I do not naturally trust many folks, and I do not ask for anything. That said, you all have supported me during my time down to an extent far greater than what I signed on for…easily as healing and welcome as the food.
The volunteers are great and so cheerful. Having new faces is a blessing and the cards, candy, gifts are really nice. Thank you for working to provide seniors with food because some would go hungry without it!
Meals on Wheels has helped regulate my diet and has helped with medical conditions. I am very thankful for ALL they do! All of the volunteers are always a delight to see and talk to! I am very thankful for all the staff at Meals on Wheels. Thank you so much!

💚 Volunteer Spotlight 💚
A heartfelt thank you to the Chesapeake Chapter of the Norfolk State University (NSU) Alumni Association for dedicating their April 29 Service Day to serving our elderly and disabled neighbors.
NSU Alumni Association volunteered across 12 meal delivery routes throughout Chesapeake and Berkley:
– delivering 242 fresh meals
– serving 121 neighbors
– completing 121 wellness checks
Volunteer service days like this do more than deliver meals—they provide friendly visits, reassurance, and connection, helping ensure no neighbor is forgotten.

With summer temperatures rising, please remember to:
�💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day.�🏠 Stay indoors or in air conditioning during the hottest hours if possible.�🧢 If you must be outside, wear lightweight clothing and seek shade.�📞 Check in on older neighbors, family members, and friends to make sure they're staying cool and hydrated.
