In need of wholesome home-delivered meals, safety checks, and social connection?
Interested in volunteering to deliver meals, safety checks, and social connection?
Want to invest in the health and wellbeing of elderly and disabled neighbors?
Since 1977, Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake (MOWC) has provided nutritious home-delivered meals, safety checks, social connection, and care coordination for older and disabled homebound residents who live alone, cannot grocery shop or cook healthy meals, and have no assistance with meal prep.
Your being here to support me (I live alone) has greatly enhanced my confidence that I am not alone, and were I to need outside help, MOW staff would be there! Seriously! I do not naturally trust many folks, and I do not ask for anything. That said, you all have supported me during my time down to an extent far greater than what I signed on for…easily as healing and welcome as the food.
The volunteers are great and so cheerful. Having new faces is a blessing and the cards, candy, gifts are really nice. Thank you for working to provide seniors with food because some would go hungry without it!
Meals on Wheels has helped regulate my diet and has helped with medical conditions. I am very thankful for ALL they do! All of the volunteers are always a delight to see and talk to! I am very thankful for all the staff at Meals on Wheels. Thank you so much!
Monday through Friday, we deliver nourishment, connection, & safety checks to homebound neighbors.

Thank you, Helping Hands! 💚
We're grateful to the Helping Hands ministry at Great Bridge Baptist Church for creating and donating these beautiful handmade gifts for our neighbors.
Pictured are our Volunteer Coordinator, Michelle Martin (left), and Program Coordinator, Joy Brimingham (right), showing the thoughtful donations delivered by Connie Russo.
Acts of kindness like these remind our elderly and disabled neighbors that they are remembered, cared for, and part of a community that values them.
Thank you to Connie and everyone at Helping Hands for sharing your time, talent, and generosity. 💚

🍽️ More than a meal.
Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake delivers nutritious meals to elderly and disabled neighbors throughout our community. Each delivery also brings something just as important: a friendly visit, a safety and wellness check, and the support that helps our neighbors continue living independently.
These are just a few examples of the meals we provide throughout the year—each one prepared and delivered with care.
Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and community partners for helping make every delivery possible. Together, we're delivering so much more than a meal. 💚
